We're all aware of the beauty of full, firm buttocks!!!
But, sometimes genetics and sometimes age leaves us with flat undesirably
shaped buttocks, along with everything else.
There are many available procedures to improve the
appearance of the buttocks, most notably fat grafting and buttock
implants -commonly called the Brazilian Butt Lift. However, in the pursuit of the
perfect derriere, we sometimes overlook the fact that the buttocks,
particularly the gluteal muscles that give the butt it's shape, have a very
important functional component. Not only are the major nerves and blood
vessels protected by these muscles, but they also allow us to have an upright
posture and move efficiently! So be
careful deciding which procedure to use.
Here are some things to know when deciding between butt
implants or fat grafting when you're getting a Brazilian Butt Lift:
1. Buttock implants are associated with a
myriad of complications including infections, extrusion, displacement,
hardening of the buttocks, thinning of the muscles, chronic pain with
ambulation and even sitting and sometimes even more serious results.
2. On the other hand, fat grafting is much
safer and when performed correctly can give the enhancement patients desire
without the risks. Also, in addition to
the enhanced natural curves fat grafting provides the buttocks, patients can have
the other problem areas of their bodies sculpted during the same procedure.
